'You Could Live A Long Time. Are you Ready?'
Lyndsay Green
This is a great book to read at any age. The author explores 'Elderland' with the help of forty elders who share their experiences and candid advice on everything from the body, to the brain, to finances, to the future and everything in between. In summation the author learns that one must plan for old age so they can embrace it. I couldn't agree more. This book is a useful planning tool no matter where you are on the aging journey. A great gift idea too.
Let's Talk The Care Years. Taking Care of Our Parents. Planning for Ourselves. Patty Randall
Patty Randall is well known as the Canadian expert on long term care. The book was written as Patty, an only child, journeyed on her own care giving experience with her mom, her Dad and then her husband. This guidebook provides detailed, step-by-step suggestions on the key care-related topics which you may be tackling now or will have to deal with later. It offers news articles, anecdotes, and thought provoking research.
